Attention: DO NOT ship us your Hard Drives! Make sure to remove them along with the trays from the unit before you ship the unit to our repair facility. We ALSO require the ENTIRE NAS to be sent, not just the mainboard or power supply. We CANNOT service boards individually, they MUST be in the unit case.

Synology DS412+ Successfully Rescued!

So satisfied and relieved after Nick's rescued my Synology DS412+ from the blinking blue light of death. I hadn't backed up my photos in a very long time which was making me nervous (I know, shame on me), so was preparing to do so and BAM!... nearby transformer blows causing massive rapid power fluctuations that toasted the NAS. Found Nick's while searching online for information on how to recover the NAS, and their diagnoses information was very helpful. It confirmed that the NAS required hardware repair to the point that I might have considered doing it myself, but given the urgency to save my photos, the stellar reviews Nick's received, and the reasonable cost under the circumstances, I placed the order. The experience with Nick's was exactly as other reviews had stated, receiving status updates all along the way. The only hiccup was a delayed return shipping which turned out to be a USPS transport issue that had significantly damaged the box to the point that it required a major tape repair. Fortunately, Nick's had packed the DS412+ well enough inside that it arrived in undamaged working order! Photos are now backed up while I work on configuring/deploying a new DS923+. Forever grateful to Nick's for this rescue and won't hesitate to use them for any future service.

Better than expected

1. Excellent comms informing of every step of receiving the part, repairing, shipping, etc.
2. Refunded almost half of the money that they charged for the international freight
3. The motherboard arrived packaged with good care.
4. Repair worked as promised.

I liked the status updates!

My Synology DS412+ NAS was flashing blue - like shown on the youtube page. I liked the simple shipping instructions and the status updates - arrival, verified issue, repaired, tested, shipped back and arrived back. The unit came back at the expected time. My only ding - not really Nick's Electronics fault, was the box it came back in had a gash in it and the interior box (I sent it in the original box I have) had a small hole - the good part is the unit itself wasn't damaged - their shipping department put enough padding to protect it. If I have a similar issue in the future, I won't hesitate going with them.

Had issues wish my Synology ds412+, found Nick’s YouTube channel/website and purchased the service to get my NAS repaired. Super easy process and great communication throughout with email updates and their online tracking system. The repair was also really fast. Overall, it was an outstanding and pain free experience all around. Highly recommend!

Synology NAS Repair

Process couldn't have been any easier. NAS was repaired, returned and I had it back up and running in about 30 minutes. Only slight complaint was I sent my power brick WITH the power cable, but only got the brick back... but not a huge deal.
