ordered oven display replacment

Ordered an oven display replacement so I can read the temperature setting for my oven. Package came packed very well. Worked as soon as I got it soldered in. Looks just like the original did many years ago. Thank you

Kenmore Elite range display - brought back to life!

Let me preface this review by stating I'm an engineer by trade, with a background in electronics, and own the tools (like a solder / desolder station) from 40+ years of doing it for a living. For me, the repair was easy...however if you don't have the tools or skills - leave the actual replacing to those who do. In short - Hire these guys.

Removal of the range control board "carrier" from the range was relatively straightforward. Getting the sandwhich of the two printed circuit boards out (and back in) to the black plastic "package" was a bit of a challenge. So, again, if you're not slilled with that sort of thing - leave it to the pros.

The replacement display component was not EXACTLY like the OEM component, but Nick's includes a piece of double-sided mounting tape to mount the replacement display on top of the integrated circuit (IC) that is on the printed circuit board - and that works well.

Desoldering the old part, and soldering in the new part eas straightforward - nothing out of the ordinary. Take your time, and with the right tools - you should have no problems.

The replacement display itself is a very close duplicate of the OEM display, and works as it should. It is bright, closely mimics the colors of the original display - and looks excellent.

Bottom Line - 5 stars for the component, but leave the replacement process to those with the tools and skills to do the job right.

Shipped quickly and arrived on time.
Worked perfectly, can now read the display.

I don’t know if this really matters, but since the new display leads doesn’t have the little tabs to keep them from going through the circuit board all the way, I temporarily placed a couple of zip-ties between the display and the chip that is right below it, before soldering. This kept a 1/16” gap between the display and chip, which the original display had. A couple of toothpicks would’ve worked also.
