Everything went well. Shipping time and turn around time were reasonable. I usually do the board repairs but we have been so busy on the install and sales floor that it was well worth it to me to send the board to Nick. 5 stars for you *****
Great and fast service. The connect box works like they said!!
Nick’s was great to deal with! Had one phone call with them then I did everything online. They were great at letting me know where into the process things were and again when a problem was found, solved and the cluster was I. It’s’ way back to me! I never felt the need to call and bug them at all as I knew what to expect based on their emails to me! Great service and great packaging to take care of my instrument cluster for my wife’s car!
I got the display in after carefully de-soldering and soldering. When I put it back in the range, it was bright but it flickered and blinked and I could not use the range. I took it out to check the soldering. I looked OK except for one of the mounting pairs. I added some solder and nothing works now.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble after installing the display, that’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.
All of the displays we sell are brand new from the manufacturer and are tested. In our experience, when a display lights up, flickers, or stops working after removal/reinstallation, it’s almost always one of two things:
– The original issue on the board wasn’t actually the display itself, or
– One or more solder joints need to be touched up/reflowed.
We’re still happy to help you get this sorted out. If you’d like, you can:
Email us clear photos of the back side of the board so we can take a close look at the solder work. One of our technicians can review it and point out any issues we see, and/or
Send the full controller to our repair facility so our techs (who do these all the time) can complete the repair for you as a service.
Even though the listing is for a parts-only sale and we don’t accept returns, we take this kind of feedback seriously and will always do what we reasonably can to help you end up with a working range. Please reach out to us directly with your order details so we can walk through next steps together.
Nick’s Electronics Repair
After only 15 months, my Samsung 77" S95D stopped powering on. I reached out to Samsung, and they sent a local repair company to my home to take a look at it. As soon as they walked in, they told me the TV was unrepairable and that they would let Samsung know so I could figure out what the next steps were.
I went on YouTube to see if anyone else was having the same issue, and Nick’s video popped up almost immediately with a tutorial showing exactly how to repair my TV.
I’m pretty handy and actually enjoy taking things apart, so my original plan was to buy a soldering iron, flux, wick, solder, and a multimeter and just tackle it myself. The only reason I decided not to was because I figured once I found out which fuse and transistors were blown, I’d have to track down the parts online, wait for them to arrive, and then hope that fixed everything without needing to order something else.
When I added it all up, sending it to Nick’s Electronic Repair was only going to cost me about $100 more than trying to do it myself, so it was an easy decision.
I sent it out, and 9 days later I had a perfectly working TV again. After Samsung’s repair company told me it couldn’t be fixed, Nick was able to repair it quickly and for a very reasonable price. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and would absolutely recommend Nick’s Electronic Repair to anyone having a similar issue.
