I wanted to repair my Sony television rather than replace it so I took a chance on diagnosing the problem with Nick's Electronic repair. I live in another state, so I followed their instructions for mainboard removal and shipping. I received the repaired mainboard in 10 or 12 days in the mail. I re-installed it following their instructions and video and encountered a small problem. I emailed support and they encouraged me to disconnect and re-connect cables before further troubleshooting. Following their instructions, the TV came back to life and I am looking forward to getting more use out of it instead of sending it to the landfill.
