TVS-872XT NAS repair

Although their system to keep me updated of my units problem and fix didn’t work very well their repair was top notch! I could see no physical evidence of the repair on the motherboard chip. I’m told the chipset that failed was a surface mount chipset. It required specialized equipment to remove and replace this chipset that would apply heat to de-solder the tiny pins and allow removal then reverse the process to solder the new chip in. This was all handled without issue as the motherboard look brand new as far as I can tell. And their return shipping was very fast! The NAS works. I’m very happy with their service.

Nick's brought my TVS-872XT back to life from red LED motherboard failure

My original QNAP s/n Q19xxx TVS-872XT had the red light, no boot problem. QNAP replaced it (after the original warranty had expired) with a s/n Q20xxx system that has not failed since. My backup NAS is another Q19 872XT, which recently had the same red light of death while updating firmware. Instead of replacing it with a TVS-h1288X @ $2750 or a TVS-h874T @ $3500 (double to replace both) I thought I would try my luck with a repair for the time being.
QNAP quoted $1000, then $750, with a 6-month warranty.
I chose Nick's TV repair in Arizona at $390, also available via eBay (money back guarantee).
They successfully replaced the degraded chip and I'm back in business two weeks later with a 1-year warranty, and it's working well!. Thanks to Nick's team.
I run both of these machines with QuTS hero and am very satisfied other than the failures.

Easy to place the order, shipping was no problem. Received updates as the repair was happening. Received my QNAQ back and it’s working to perfection. I would definitely recommend Nick’s electronic repair.
